Church Groups & Organizations

Below are our groups within the church who help serve our church, congregation, and community.

Daughters of Zion is a Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML) auxiliary whose members focus on support for missions in our community, state, nation, and the world. Meeting each month for Bible Study and Prayer is the foundation of their purpose. Meetings are held at 9am on the 4th Saturday of each month for all women of the congregation.

Breakfast & Bibles - Sat. 8 am

On Saturday mornings we gather for Breakfast at Lamont Hill Restaurant, followed by a lively, interactive Bible Study - right there at the table.

It's  a time of wonderful Christian Fellowship.

Adult Bible Study - Sun. 10:30 am

This is a Pastor-Led Study covering a series of topics, usually working through a given book of the bible, with discussion and questions from the entire group.


We meet in the Fellowship Hall following refreshments after the Sunday Morning Services.

Quilting Group Bible Study  | Zion Lutheran Church | Vassar KS | 66543

The ladies quilting group of Zion meets every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month from 9am-noon, with a short devotion by the Pastor at around 10am. Several of the ladies make quilts and some ladies also make pillowcase dresses. The dresses and majority of the quilts will go to the Orphan Grain Train and other service organizations to be distributed throughout the nation or globally.

Come join us as we enhance our worship services with selections specifically for multiple harmonies offered in Praise to God.


We welcome you to participate and enjoy working with the members of our choir.


Usually  singing during our Advent or Lenten Worship Seasons, the Choir meets to practice on Wednesday evenings following MidWeek Services during those seasons.

Germanfest

Zion Lutheran Church hosted their 2nd Annual Germanfest September 16, 2o23 from 11am until 3pm, at the church. We celebrated with our community and our church's German heritage. The jovial day included:


  • Live music from the Alpien Spielers
  • German inspired food
  • Beer garden with German Beer (straight from Germany)
  • History of the Church
  • Children's activities and games


The committee was busy the last few months preparing for the event. Bierocks and the German Potato Salad are homemade to reflect the church's long connection to Germany.

Menu: Homemade Bierocks, German Potato Salad, Cole Slaw, Brats, Hot Dogs, Pretzels, Cakes and Strudel, along with German Beer.
